Yes, but if there's any periodicity in der reading, like it can be observed with the receiving of UART characters, for instance, the randomness is lost and repeating patterns can be seen.

If I would need randowm numbers, I would add an analog circuitry and use a noisy component to increase the randomness and to avoid periodicity.
