Richard - That statement is a total crock...with your reference to them being programmed in a HLL. The high tech products that do happen to barely work are that way because too much is stuffed into one implementation. They either lack a good core design or were implemented and then not adequately tested and debugged. The fact of the matter is that many of the high-tech devices we have around us today would be even more buggy and frustrating to use if they were written in assembler code. And that is presuming that any particularly high tech device would even be feasible to develop in assembler language. (Feasible including time to market, team size, budget and all that other realistic got-to-face stuff). I have been following this thread for some time and have been rather amused by what has appeared to be the sheer amount of stubbornness on your part with respect to HLLs and C in particular. I've come to the conclusion that what must really be going on here is that you have not actually taken the steps to really seriously implement an MCU project in C. I suspect that if you really did do this you would come away a convert. Michael Karas |
