#184347 - Few non-specialist programs needs lots of RAM Responding to: ???'s previous message |
FPGA and PCB routing is "specialist" applications.
I think photography is one of the few "normal" applications that have a legitimate reason to gobble many GB of memory. And with "normal" here, I think about well-spread applications used by lots of people, many who are not professionals. The majority of programs a "normal" person uses that gobbles lots of memory does it because of stupidities in the software design, or because they automatically performs extra tasks the user don't really need. |
