#183984 - win7 Virtualization Responding to: ???'s previous message |
You have to believe it.
If you start lokking for win7 XP mode you get something like this In Windows 7 environment either 32bit or 64bit the XPmode refers to Virtual PC from M$, and is included as option into every OS setup. You have to follow simple steps to download and initialize a virtual machine as a XP SP3 with configurable options for RAM, HD size, number of Processors, USB assignments, Serial and Parallel port assignments etc ... I am using and suggest and setup this environment for applications that are not aware of the new win7 application and security system of win7. The other options for VMware are more rigid but you have to own a serial number of Win XP CD(or win95/98/NT/w2K/win3.1/MSDOS) to setup. VMware worksation, VMware Server and VMware Player are more efficient options even for hardware that does not have native virtualizion skills. Even old DOS Graphics applications like AutoCAD and PCB schematics/designers run smoothly because of using VESA drivers. Even old KEY-LOCKED applications run because of the use of internal assignent link to the hosting port (USB, Serial, Parallel). Modern PCs with i3, i5, i7 processors utilize as much as of 8cores. Have you any other idea of the use of these extra cores ??? Virtualization ocuppies the CPU at most and makes these "terata" machines to be usefull K.L.Angelis |
