Dell workstations are among the best.

Are you willing to supply any metric that does back this statement?

Yes, I did notice the plural form of the claim. But assumed your claim wasn't that you could find Dell machines installed besides "best" matchines, but how much worse than "the best" something can be and belong to the best.

Dell has a streamlined shipping process and a low price, which gives them a significant market share. But in my view, the actual hardware - or their support - is really not up to a top-3 or top-5 position. The purchase departments loves them, because they are easy to buy. And having a large market share helps when it comes to third-party support - for example for use with VMware. But the real hardware is often lacking. They down-clock memories etc to make the machines reliable, when competitors instead supplies reliable hardware. So once more - the purchase departments loves them.
