It is easy to change the colors of the components. Just use the menu command View / Colors. This will show you a dialog with a matrix color selections. The layers are listed down the left side and the various items are showing across the top. Double click on any color box in the matrix to get a drop down list from which you can select any one of 20 colors. At the bottom of that list there is also a "More..." selector which goes to a standard RGB color selector to help you select any color you choose.
