I haven't looked at this version, but if you're a one-man enterprise, and can tolerate the library content and the hassle of building a package outline for each schematic symbol, not to mention the rather ugly schematic output, it's not a bad package so long as it's entirely free of cost.
If you have a circuit designer and a layout guy, separate persons, not just separate hats, then it becomes less pleasant. Further, if there's yet another person, i.e. a procurement guy, well, he may like a package neither the circuit designer nor the layout guy might of chosen, simply because it's cheaper. This might not be so bad the first time ... but each subsequent occasion on which the same package is used, and has to be redrawn into the schematic symbol, somebody's going to be unhappy. RE |
