I want to add to this Malund you did used abbreviation LOL here :http://www.8052.com/forumchat/read.phtml?id=151034 I am sure this is unintentional, but to call someone by their surname exclusively, without prefacing it with Mr. is considered bad manners in the UK, and probably America too. In the usual form, your first name - ie Steve is the mode of address in here, your second name would only be used formally as "Mr Taylor said earlier". Saying "Taylor said earlier" is rude, or open to misinterpretation. Certainly when at school, one was always addressed by the teachers as "Taylor" and it is a diminuitive form of address. We need to be careful that people's most friendly form of address is always used here ! Steve Why didnt you told me that earlier Steve :) , no problems calling names .There is a confusion how to judge which part of name is surname and which not . As said earlier by Andy Neil that Neil is his name and Andy is his surname ?? . In case of Erik Malund , Erik is his name . AP |
