In the usual form, your first name - ie Steve is the mode of address in here, your second name would only be used formally as "Mr Taylor said earlier". Saying "Taylor said earlier" is rude, or open to misinterpretation. Certainly when at school, one was always addressed by the teachers as "Taylor" and it is a diminuitive form of address. We need to be careful that people's most friendly form of address is always used here ! Steve |
