Also is 9v battery to 3.3v regulator to much for 3.3v regulator?
I can not imagine a 3V3 regulator that can not handle 9V in, but the issue is heat. So 6*whatever current your board uses is the wattage the chip must be able to handle. Erik first try http://www.digikey.com/ and enter linear regulator, via another click you get to a parametric search. If that is not succesful (it should be) then go for the potential sources: LT, national, AD, ON, Maxim and more. most will have a 'selection table' e.g. http://para.maxim-ic.com/cache/en/search/4653.html that allow you to specify what you need. The chip shown in the photo is a DIL8 or DIP8 (I have seen either used). |
