If there's a single digit-select, and there's more than one segment driven at a time, it's not the same at all. If you're either sourcing or sinking the current to/from all segments at once, then it matters very much whether it's a single segment or multiples being driven at once. If you know which it is, and you know the requirements of the LED and the capabilities of the digit-select and segment drivers, it is just a matter of ensuring that the same current flows through all segments, for the same amount of time, to ensure similar brightness. I advocate driving a single segment at time, irrespective of the display type, of course, since that allows the best control of segment brightness. RE |
