There's big difference of draw back force of deactivated relay between a reed relay and a standard relay. The reed relay consists only of a very tiny metal tongue, which cannot provide a strong draw back force. So, when overrating the relay contacts and when the contacts of both tongues glue together due to a melting process, then the draw back force is insufficient to open the contacts. Reed relays are brilliant, have lots of advantages over standard relays, but do never overrate the contacts! Kai |
