Iam working in a reed switch manufacturing company.

I was told to check the life expectancy of reed switch for a lamp load application by controlling the inrush current that the reed switch could experience.

i would like to ask ,
would using a reed switch for such an application (after providing the necessary inrush current control so that the current flow is well with in the limits) would prove worthless?
