#110065 - It makes sense to select them Responding to: ???'s previous message |
What is the purpose of selecting within 0.1% if the device may be off by 0.5% within the lifetime of the equipment. First, it's rather unlikely to experience the full long term drift and second, for having a cap that only differs by 0.6% instead of 1.5%. Erik, the cap Prahlad is using is also sold with +-10% tolerance. Does this mean, that selecting these to be within +-1% makes no sense? The manuifacturing tolerances does not tell about how good a cap is or how stable it is, but only to which precision it was manufactured. So, it indeed makes sense to select a cap to be within a +-0.1% error band. Kai |
