They are part of our daily work. I could tell you very similar stories about unprofessional malpractice having to do with TI (discontinuation of OPamp in die-package without any informing), AD (heavily increased charge injection of an analog switch without any informing), Philips (discontinuation of µC despite of contrary announcement), Siemens (discontinuation of electrolytic cap in certain footprint without replacement), Siemens (datasheet says, controller chip has 14 pins, when you buy it it comes with 16pins), ...

This list is endless. From your logic I had to refuse every manufacturer who ever had done anything wrong in the past.
