if it does, just connect it

As opposed to "common knowledge" 3V3 logic runs at "TTL levels" with the one exception that for TTL Voh CAN go higher. Voh min is very well satisfied

This is about TTL levels, DO NOTE that nobody stated that a LCD display runs at TTL levels, check the datasheet.
