The Silabs C8051F120 output pins can be programmed to be "open drain" or "push-pull" You need to program the outputs pins as "open drain" to allow the outputs to go to +5V however
do remember that resistive pull-up is slow (depending on wiring capacitance which for an external LCD can be quire significant) so a) use relatively small resistors and do not clock too fast -or- b) use active level converters Erik |
