Absolutely!

While the idea of "minimum changes to existing hardware" makes sense short-term, it's really just a "band-aid"

Next time something goes wrong, you will have to do another "band-aid".

Eventually, you will just have a whole mass of "band-aid"

You really do need to have a proper strategy for this...
