#167200 - 8048 vs 89S52 DIP40 may fit but different pinout Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Let's remember
http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/8048/ 1976 Intel 8048 is a member of Intel MCS-48 family of 8-bit microcontrollers. The MCU has on-chip clock oscillator, 2 8-bit timers, 27 I/O ports, 64 bytes of RAM and 1 KB of masked ROM. The program and data memory of the 8048 can be expanded to 4 KB and 320 bytes respectively. Program memory consists of 1 KB on-chip masked ROM and up to 3 KB of external program memory. It is possible to disable on-chip memory and use up to 4 KB of external memory. In any case the total size of supported program memory is 4 KB. Since the 8048 may have 1K on-chip ROM or 4KB external program memory, it looks like the AT89S52 with 8K program memory, being a 12clocker, provided at DIP40 may fit BUT the pinout is not the same. Of course the firmware should be rewritten for 8051 assembly. ![]() I have seen a lot of alarm systems companies using the AT80C32X2 on boards with alarm systems. Some of these boards are sophisticated and provide beside keypad/LCD, RS232 for Windows PC/Server connection, wireless, GSM and other usefull goodies. They use an external EEPROM that contains the program and accompanying hardware for multiple inputs and ouputs. K.L.Angelis |
