#160446 - "Inser Code" button still confusing - and preview Responding to: ???'s previous message |

People still can't seem to manage to post source code properly - despite having an easy button for it!
Maybe the button could be better named: "Insert Code" isn't immediately obvious that it relates to software source code; and it doesn't actually insert the (source) code - just applies the formatting. This might be a particular problem for people with English as a foreign language? One poster has just confirmed this to be the case: Raj Nambiar said:
You ar right. I was a bit confused. When I pressed the button, I was expecing a pop-up window that was going to ask me for the .c or txt file. But then I found the 'insert your code here' line. That made me think that the whole think will be converted to html or the code part might be parsed separately and formatted into an html table or something. Since I didn'y find any html tags that could do it, I assumed that it would be inserted here. And preview button : I am not sure that I saw it.
http://www.8052.com/forum/read/160445 I think that last sentence also supports why it should never be possible to 'Post' before a 'Preview' has been done! If there is only one button, there can be no confusion! See: http://www.8052.com/forum/read/159855 |
