I've thought about doing this in the past but one problem may be that we have some users with the same name, though luckily they don't all post. So if you login as a username then the system wouldn't know which user with that name you are.

I have a thought on fixing that: When someone logs in, the system would activate that name as the username--if someone logged in with a username that was already being used then they'd be instructed to modify their name.

My question would be: Does anyone else think that changing the system so you login with your name as opposed to your email address would be useful?
