The traces look the same. Interestingly the 'beneficial' effect of the monitor persists even when the monitor isn't powered up, so the effect must be electrical. The signals look pretty clean to me.

With the monitor connected the rise time goes up from 100nsec to about 150nsec, as you might expect.
