#167917 - as opposed to MMC, which uses the same connector

I've not (yet) encountered an 805x app that actually uses CF or SD in the way in which it was intended.

What do you see as "the way in which it was intended"?

I mention that in contrast with the degraded modes in which he CF and SD devices are often used in conjunction with MCU's, discarding half or more of the available data storage by using only bytes while addressing words, in the case of CF in "true ide" mode, or, in the case of SD, using SPI mode, rather than "full-speed" mode, which uses four bits rather than one. That was one of the "advances" in the transition from MMC to SD.

they're so cheap its hard to avoid being tempted by their availability. The only "issue" is their connector.

Which, presumably, is why they've come up with this "embedded" version that has no connector?

Which brings us back to the OP's specific question: has anyone actually seen any of these parts available for purchase?

If so, do they, as you say, still offer the same "large scale raw nonvolatile memory at a tiny fraction of the cost-per-bit of other non-volatile storage"
