they're so cheap its hard to avoid being tempted by their availability. The only "issue" is their connector.

Which, presumably, is why they've come up with this "embedded" version that has no connector?

Which brings us back to the OP's specific question: has anyone actually seen any of these parts available for purchase?

If so, do they, as you say, still offer the same "large scale raw nonvolatile memory at a tiny fraction of the cost-per-bit of other non-volatile storage"
