#164122 - Ramtron? Responding to: ???'s previous message |

One was in the back of a RAMTRON brochure on their FRAM. It didn't seem to be a real part. I have been testing the Ramtron (ex-GOAL) '51 (with embedded FRAM) some time ago*, and, as far as I can judge, it was real - a flat black piece of plastic with protruding tiny metal "legs" all around... ;-) The chip is a very fine feature-packed 40MHz single-clocker, with all the bells and whistles one can expect (maybe except the kitchen sink ;-) ). Their support is awful, though, which is the major reason why I never pushed them to use in real life. The support of ALL '51 manufacturers appears to be awful these days, especially if compared to that of Microchip and Atmel Norway. Maybe SiLabs's is an exception, I don't know. JW PS. * - actually, I wrote a simple but working BASIC interpreter for it, in SDCC. Anybody interested? |
