SEPIC is an acronym for Single-Ended-Primary-Inductor-Converter.
Several manufacturers make these and they're pretty easy to craft oneself. They have the characteristic that they operate in one mode while the output voltage is less than the input voltage, and another while the output voltage exceeds the input voltage. As a result, they're often a good choice for situations in which the input may droop considerably below its normal value, e.g. battery operated devices.
