The ready-made board I typically use is the one form NewMicros, the NMIY-0031. It has plenty of ROM and RAM space, AND it provides for quite a wide range of expansion, both with ready-made modules that NewMicros sells, for which connectors are provided, and with DIY stuff that can be attached in several ways, including the on-board prototyping area. There's on-board serial I/O and a set of ports for LCD and keypad.
That board costs only $40. The ready-made board from SiLabs costs only $100. RE |
