I doubt that a 8255 replacement will have much traction since the apps that n... naah,want to use such a chip are not speed demons. If you 'need' a 'fast 8255' in any volume, you will, typically, go for a CPLD or FPGA to get exactly what you want. Let dead horses lie. As Richard states, the 8255 is, hopefully (my word) only found on boards for which the application is TBD. In other words, the good ol' illusion of a 'universal' '51 board that keep popping up. What volume will you get from boards for which the application is TBD, such will 'sell' in onesies and twosies. Erik |
