1) some small voltage drop across the board sounds like a layout problem, there should be no voltahe drop worth mentioning, evan stating it as 'small'
2) some noise ... for the reset chip we used.. is it a Microchip supervisor? the Microchip supervisors are notoriously noise sensitive, place (regardless of the brand of the supervisor) a 100nF cap DIRECTLY from Vcc to Gnd on the supervisor.
