#175237 - Thank you All Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I'd like to thank all the senior members for their valuable suggestions and warnings.
till now i have been using a step down trafo which would cater to circuit's power supply and for ZCD, trafo being the bulkiest part and weighing 170grams (6 Oz)would add to additional shipping costs of the product and not to mention about the trafo's inefficieny and heating. i want to replace the trafo with a small off the shelf SMPS (12V at 0.5A) module which is light weight and very compact and has isolation that's the reason behind my quest for simple, cheaper ( and dangerous) ZCD i have also used an optocoupler(4N25)with a bridge and series resistor to obtain ZCD pulses from direct mains, but iam looking for cheaper means.
