I've spent a short while on http://www.three.co.uk and it's really hard to see what the costs of SMS would be on a deal that gives you a free (or cheap) HSDPA modem.

It looks suspiciously like SMS will be charged in addition to your HSDPA data allowance - which will make it an extremely expensive way to get SMS!

Your tariffs will undoubtedly be different - but it just goes to show that you need to check the tariff details really carefully to understand what will be the true ongoing cost of using HSDPA...
