I'm repeating myself: one can start a new thread easily, starting with "let me discuss this interesting topic a little bit more".
Note, that the OP had no problem to do exactly that.

The only issue I can think of is, that if you are midst editing your post and the thread gets closed meanwhile, by pressing POST your posting gets lost immediately and unrecoverably. Craig, could this possibly happen?
