#189074 - Stellaris Arm Tools
I've recently received two of TI's Stellaris LaunchPad boards for the LM4F120 Chip.

This looks like a pretty powerful chip!!

I believe I've read here before that several folks have dabbled with the Stellaris line from TI.

I read from the TI web site that there are four choices to download regarding development environment software to get started with these LaunchPad boards. There are very few details provided regarding these various choices.

1 - TI Code Composer Studio
2 - IAR Embedded Workbench
3 - Keil RVMDK
4 - Mentor Sourcery CodeBench

As I understand things the options 2 - 3 - 4 above are all evaluation versions of tools from the respective named vendors. As such these have limited capabilities, time span or object size. My question here today relates to Option 1.

What does the TI Code Composer Studio actually consist of? Does it include a full C compiler and linker tool chain? Is it limited in any way? If it is included is is a "toy" type tool set that generates horrible unoptimized code?

I've combed the TI web site bit could not find any real answers to the above questions.
