#188790 - Scientifically simple and Occams razor Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Occams razor serves a useful purpose in a philosophical arguement, but it's not a scientific definition of 'simplest'. The simplest scientific theory is the one where a change to any part of it changes the predictions it makes.
Creation stories and other myths aren't simple because you can change "God made the world in six days" to "God made the world in five days" and nothing changes. Similarly, you can change "Storks bring babies" to "Red kites bring babies" and nothing changes, and neither theory predicts where puppies come from. |
