#188724 - As a Christian ... Responding to: ???'s previous message |
As a Christian, I believe mathematics is a language, functionally no different than English, Latin, Hebrew or Aramaic. Some languanges are structured, others inflected, and math is quantified. Also, there is a much more organized mapping of the verbal onto the written form, but in the end math is nothing more than a language whereby men communicate thoughts and ideas. And like any other language, it can be used to describe Truth, or deceit.
Given that a = b (i.e. 1/2 = 2/4); a^2 = ab a^2 - b^2 = ab - b^2 (a + b)(a - b) = b(a - b) (a + b) = b b + b = b 2b = b 2 = 1 QED See what I mean? Joe |
