... actually a number of choices ,,, beginning with the notion that we should all agree on what we believe so that we can form an orderly society. Do you believe that it's necessary to agree? To what extent? Can we, despite the fact we disagree on some things, behave as though we were all part of an orderly society?
I know there's room for doubt, but can Jews, Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, etc, coexist in an orderly society? What if we're wrong about that? Can we live together in a relatively orderly society despite the fact we can't agree on the role of government in society? Can we live together despite the other differences we experience? Is it really just a matter of leaving others to "do their thing"? RE |
