The other day MACH3 stopped working when I needed my machine badly, x y z axes stopped working but spindle was working fine. I spent all day trying to figure out the problem with no luck. I changed the parallel port mode in bios from SPP to ECP then the machine started working. I changed the mode back to SPP and the machine kept working. Now I lost the PWM speed control for the spindle it only works on or off.
I downloaded and installed the linuxcnc on my machine side by side with windows and it looks quite professional. but it asks for alot of machine parameters that I don't know about my machine, I will try again when I have more time.
Does anyone know how to convert gerber files to g-code under linux?
