Hi Mahmood,

I keep a general purpose gear oil in my gear box, but on my table slides and ball screws (and my table too for that matter), I'm not so much concerned about lubrication as protective coating. keeping a thin film of oil on everything inhibits rusting. My machine shop is an uninsulated metal building, so I have to worry about rust.
