#188499 - lubrication Responding to: ???'s previous message |
Hi Mahmood,
For clarity's sake I need to point out that I have two machines. One is a general purpose CNC mill/lathe out in my machine shop. The other is a dedicated machine designed specifically for producing prototype printed circuit boards, an LPKF C60 downstairs in my electronics lab. I lubricate my general purpose CNC machine with general purpose gear oil in the gear case, and general purpose grease on the ball screws, table slides, and general moving parts. There's nothing special about any of it. My LPKF C60, on the other hand, uses a special grease that I get from LPKF. Other than that I have no idea what it is or what's special about it. It's inexpensive enough that I've never looked further into it. Besides, the recommended maintenance cycle is rather infrequent, and involved enough that I don't do it unnecessarily. Joe |
