#188394 - You've got to consider cost Responding to: ???'s previous message |
While physicians often have millions of dollars' worth of equipment at their disposal, a prosthetist seldom has a big budget, as they work as contractors rather than employees of doctors and hospitals, and, have to provide low quotes in order to get the job. If the hardware costs more than $5k, there won't be much chance a prosthetist will buy it.
Mechanically, it must be robust and reliable. Physically, it must be relatively small, i.e. smaller than a 2-drawer file cabinet including all its components. While the pressure and deflection measurements needn't be very precise, they must be reasonable. Most importantly, the device must be VERY safe. RE |
