Presumably, the probe itself would have to travel a considerable distance, e.g. 3-5 cm, first to make contact and secondly to make a measurement, where it might deflect the tissue with which it was in contact by perhaps another 3-5 cm. The piezo might provide enough information to define the pressure, but how would one determine the distance traveled?

This just might offer a way to a solution!
