I fixed a simple strain guauge to the crank with a little data logger, just to see what the readings looked like for a longish ride, I think it will be interesting to see if the data I got looks anything like the data my friend got with his powertap power meter.
obviously there are all kinds of errors and lots of variables but I am not looking for 100% accuracy I just want something which shows me if my training is actualy doing me any good. Considering that he rides with Reynolds wheels with a powertap meter the cost of his set up 1s about £5000 so if I can get similar results for £100 then I am happy.
