#186106 - ESD ...
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Per said:
But have you seen anyone talk about using a watchdog to cure bad electronics?

Well, Christoph is hoping that his watchdog will fire, isn't he?

Per said:
A short magnetic field pulse millions of times our normal uT levels will induce significant voltages where you don't want - and don't expect - them to be.

Up to now Christoph wasn't talking about such events but about ESD:

Christoph said:
(Yes, being zapped with lots of ESD is part of our application, and while it's fine for the device to cease working while being zapped, it's not acceptable to keep playing dead after the zapping has stopped)

EMI filters, trisils etc are nice. But you can still not control everything.

You need not to controll everything, but only what is expected to happen. And here it's ESD what Christoph is worrying about.
