#176455 - incorrect?
Responding to: ???'s previous message
Michael,
just so we all use the same terminology
the 4-20 receiver output a voltage and measure the current consumed
the 4-20 sensor varies the amount of current it passes.

I believe you are thinking from the wrong end
I do not think so. Raghu's description is not exctly crystal clear, but why would you connect anything to an USBport but a receiver.

Raghu:
please provide datasheet links to the two devices you are using and state which one will have the USB plug.

On 4-20mA loop devices it may very well not be correct to show minimum reading on an open and maximum reading on a loop short. There is plenty of opportunity for the 4-20 respondent device to detect < 4mA and report an open condition and > 20mA and show a short or overrange error condition.
Maybe I was a bit old fashioned there, what I described was 'voltmeter as output from the receiver'

Erik
