#169944 - Well, maybe a pre-post examination is needed Responding to: ???'s previous message |
By that, I mean someone might have to look at the query, perhaps just to ensure it has a meaningful title, and then categorize it for the O/P. I don't know who'd do that ... but it would probably help in a number of ways.
If newbies were made aware that they MUST put on a meaningful title, category, etc, before their homework assignment will even appear, perhaps that would help. All this homework posting has come from a decade of people rushing to "solve" the annually recurring homework problems to show how clever they are, rather than attempting to "do it right." That's why we've seen the upsurge, in proportion, of homework problems. There are FAQ's, tutorials, and, of course, hundreds of posts, dealing with the perennial homework assignments, e.g. LCD modules, moving message displays, ADC's, thermometry, etc. We've learned to recognize 'em, yet they get their work done for them anyway. It's easy enough to recognize a "disguised" homework problem. They typically have overlooked a major component of the "disguise", e.g. I/O count, display viewing angle, or intensity, power consumption or other major aspect. When they start making reference to how difficult it is to get particular components in their geographic location, it begins to look as though they're actually trying to do something. I'm not sure there's anything that can be done, short of having a moderator reject senseless thread titles. Once the O/P is forced to assign a relevant title, he/she's got a search term. Given that relevant search term, it's likely a search will actually turn up something useful. Would't that help? I see that there are nearly 1500 hits on "HELP" and nearly 1000 on "PROJECT". If only they had meaningful titles ... RE |
