Richard, for a professional a search for "ring buffer" would help, for a newbie not! If he makes a search his brain is flooded with even more new and unkown information. This is just what he is lacking, the needed experience and skill to understand an explanation!!! This is something you must learn over the years, like to read between the lines of a datasheet. This isn't simply lazyness. You make a big mistake if you assume this.
