#147102 - Wine and VirtualBox
Responding to: ???'s previous message
using Linux in an area where tools running under Linux are virtually nonexistent.

There are tools which allow running Windows software on Linux. If someone really needs stability of Linux but needs running Windows software from time to time there are some solutions that can help creating a hybrid system which can run both Linux and Windows software.

WINE and CodeWeaver are tools which runs Windows software directly on a Linux box by replacing Win32 OS calls with Linux equivalents. It's not 100% perfect but it works quite good if you run tools like a compiler or an integrated development environment.

VirtualBox hosts a Windows OS inside an emulator which can be integrated seamlessly inside Linux desktop. It can run ALL Windows Software but the drawback is that you'll need an extra Windows license for it.

The only problem you may have is if you have a programmer/analyzer/simulator which needs to directly to talk with a special addon card in PC. In this case you may have some compatibility issues.
