#139792 - crappy GUI Responding to: ???'s previous message |
I don't know if that is the REASON (I can imagine many many reasons - rapidly changing bus environment, prohibitive price of PCI solutions, high noise environment, temperature management problems but what I have seen of this cathegory - including also the "box connected to PC" type - it all fell over on the controlling GUI.
As I said above, it's too easy to say it's easy to program a GUI on a PC. But, when it comes to usability, a PC which has to be booted, with permanently fighting HW and SW, and, most of all, a mouse-click-based GUI is hopelessly inferior to a couple of real knobs and buttons and an ever-working-just-after-being-switched-on measurement DEVICE. My SKK 0.02 (practically zero). JW PS. One day when I will have more courage will show here my pikoLA, a PC-connected '51-based rudimentary logic analyser... OK the PC-side IS a bad joke... |
