A thousand years ago, the planet was healthy and not affected in any adverse way by the few humans that inhabited it, despite their inclination to burn wood, among other things to cook and heat their homes.
The statement you made, quoted above, may have reasonably applied to them. Now, however, we have several billion people all of whom think as you do, that their few excesses won't have any adverse impact. It's no longer the case, however. Still no evidence. Just an unsupported assertion on your part. Of course, I will not adopt the postion that our excesses don't have any adverse impact. If you build a road, you adversely effected any animal that might have his hole in the ground along that route. I do not believe, however, that CO2 production is having a significantly adverse impact such that I should feel any moral obligation to avoid generating it. As I've said before, I'll happily go along with a lot of regulations to keep our air and water clean, to prevent unnecessary destruction to our forests, and basically to keep pollution to a minimum. I do not, however, accept the assertion that CO2 is in fact a pollutant. Regards, Craig Steiner |
