Like the saying goes "Follow the money" there are a lot of people, groups, governments et,al that stand to make lots of money by limiting CO2 emissions, if you follow the trail these are the same people who are pushing the global warming issue.
It's about money, power, and control. Many of you on this forum are old enough to remember that the fear du jour in the 60's was global cooling. That didn't pan out for the fear mongers, so they switched to global warming. Get the facts; global warming is a myth promulgated to gain power and control over the masses. Here are some real facts: We are still at the tail end of the last ice age. Of course the world will get warmer. Despite this, and because change isn't constant, but has ups and downs, the average global temperature has decreased in the last few decades. The media is lying for the benefit of those who are attempting to gain money and power. During most of the Mesozoic (age of dinosaurs for those who don't know much geology), global temperatures were such that most of the arctic circle was forested. Didn't seem to bother the dinosaurs much. The most active greenhouse gas is methane, not CO2. Most of the methane produced comes from termites, not humans. The second largest source is cows. It is arrogant beyond belief for humans to think that we could have a significant impact on global weather (short of all out thermonuclear war). Lastly, in answer to someone's question about how long it takes to produce crude oil: about three months, given the right conditions. The fact that most of the stuff we pump out of the ground came from organic remains of creatures that died millions of years ago doesn't mean it took that long for them to turn into oil. |
